Three city council races will be on the ballot in November.
A debate at the Senior Community Center Wednesday night could help sharpen the issues.
The city council candidates will take the stage at 8 pm. They are:
- In District 2, incumbent Ursula Reed; school president Morgan Mack-Rose; and Bal Theater owner Dan Dillman.
- In District 4 there is no incumbent: Darlene Daevu, Chris Crow,Benny Lee and Justin Hutchison are all vying to replace Joyce Starosciak.
- In District 6, incumbent Jim Prola faces school board member Hermy Almonte.
The event actually begins at 6 pm with light refreshments followed by a debate between Rob Bonta of Alameda and Abel Guillen of Oakland, both Democrats but opposing candidates for 18th Assembly District
The event is hosted by the Halcyon-Foothill Neighborhood Association; the Best Manor Home Owners Association; and the Business Association of South San Leandro.
