Citizenship For Seniors Workshop In San Leandro October 16

Legal Assistance for Seniors will present this free workshop open to seniors which will offer a step-by-step guide to naturalization

A free workshop open to the public on U.S. citizenship for seniors will be held October 16 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the at 13909 E. 14th Street sponsored by Legal Assistance for Seniors.

Legal Assistance for Seniors provides free legal advice and representation, health insurance counseling, and community education to qualified Alameda County residents.

Staff from the agency, along with others, will present information seniors need to know when applying for United States citizenship and naturalization.

Participants will learn about the English and history requirements and exemptions for citizenship, disability and fee waivers, the Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI), government benefits available to immigrants and specifics about how the citizenship application process works.
