Jenn Leighton teaches art at Castro Valley High. She has some of works on display at the Zocalo Coffeehouse in San Leando.
Saturday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm she will host a reception at Zocalo where she will discuss and describe her "encaustic" art.
The term refers to the technique of melting colors into the wax plates that take the place of a canvas.
