BART train service was interrupted Sunday morning between Union City and Bay Fair stations, a spokesman said.
Overnight track work near BART's Hayward maintenance yard has halted service in both directions near the South Hayward Station, BART spokesman Jim Allison said.
The work is affecting trains on the Fremont-Daly City line.
Passengers are advised to go to the Bay Fair Station to start their trips, Allison said.
AC Transit buses will honor BART tickets between Union City and San Leandro.
As of 8:30 a.m., there was no estimated time that trains through the area would be back on schedule, Allison said
