AC Transit Hearings On BRT

Environmental impact report is available. Comments will be accepted until March 19.

AC Transit will hold a community meeting to display plans and discuss its  proposed Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route from Berkeley to San Leandro. 

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 1st from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Sister Cities Room at San Leandro City Hall.

In a recent email to neighborhood groups, Mayor Stephen Cassidy said the BRT's final environmental impact report has been completed and that AC Transit will be accepting comments on the proposal until March 19. (Click here to see the document)

The plan will then go back to AC Transit for possible changes and will be presented to the San Leandro City Council in late March or early April, City Councilwoman Pauline Cutter said in a separate email to the neighborhoods.

Cutter said the meeting will consist of a short presentation from AC Transit and give attendees time to view the pictures and plans that will be displayed. There will also be time for comments.
