San Leandro police note that a shooting occurred near Foothill Square, about a half-mile north of where Broadmoor residents reported hearing gunfire early morning Thursday.
When San Leandro police received multiple reports of gunshots being fired near the 700 block of Victoria Avenue in the wee hours of Thursday morning, officers dispatched to the scene found nothing.
Now SLPD officials think those shots may have been fired during an incident that occurred at the same time, a little over half-a-mile away, on the 2600 block of Talbot Avenue, near Foothill Square in Oakland.
In that incident in Oakland, two men were wounded and a parked card was shot up at 12:50 am.
The first report of shots being fired reached SLPD at 12:51 am.
The two men were wounded not far from where a 16-year-old mom was shot to death on August 8, but
the Oakland Tribune reported that Oakland police do not think the two incidents are related other than by having occurred in the same neighborhood.
