Walmart Armed Robbery Suspect Accused of Attempting to Bribe FBI Agent

Melvin Landry Jr., 22, is one of three people charged in connection with a series of armed robberies, including two at Walmart stores in San Leandro.

An Oakland man accused in the armed robberies of four Northern California Walmart stores — including two in San Leandro — tried to bribe an FBI agent into letting him go with offers of $60,000 in cash, a car and a Rolex watch, according to a report from SF Gate.

Melvin Landry Jr., 22, of Oakland is one of three people charged in connection with a series of armed robberies, SF Grate reports.

The group showed off their loot on Facebook, posting pictures of themselves flaunting large amounts of cash believed to have been taken from Walmart cash registers, SF Gate reports.

The alleged crime spree began February 2012 when Landry and two other unidentified men allegedly robbed a Safeway store in Oakland, SF Gate reports.

In October 2012, Landry and two other men stole $111,333 in cash and checks from the San Leandro Walmart store on Hesperian Boulevard, SF Gate reports.

In December 2012, Landry; Dominique Martin, 22; and a third man stole $32,999 from the other San Leandro Walmart store on Davis Street, SF Gate reports.
