Truck Crashes, Spills Wine on I-880 in San Leandro

Two southbound lanes remained closed as of 10:25 a.m.

A delivery truck carrying wine bottles crashed this morning on southbound Interstate Highway 880 in San Leandro, spilling wine in the slow lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash, which did not involve any other vehicles, was reported at 9:30 a.m. near the Marina Boulevard off-ramp.

A Sig-alert was issued at 9:43 a.m., according to the CHP.

Bottles that were inside the box truck fell out onto the roadway, breaking and spilling the wine onto the pavement.

Two southbound lanes remained shut down as of 10:25 a.m., and the Davis Street entrance to southbound I-880 was also closed, according to the CHP.

There were no reports of injuries.
