San Leandro police have arrested a 49-year-old transient who allegedly accosted two boys, demanded money and then tried to kiss at least one of them.
In a statement issued Friday police say they have arrested Michael Roy Flores for an incident that occurred about 5 pm Wednesday when he allegedly approached two 14-year-old boys near East 14th Street and 136th Avenue.
Flores first asked for $50 and the boys said no, police said.
The suspect then allegedly grabbed one of the boys by the arm, pulled him close and put his face next to the boy's face.
When the boy pulled away, police say Flores turned his attention to the other teen, “puckered” his lips and tried to kiss him. The second teen backed away
Police say a woman passerby saw what was happening and called the boys over to her, walked them to a nearby 7-11 and waited with them until Flores left.
The mother of one of the boys called police to report the incident. Officers located Flores and placed him under arrest for annoying a minor.
Police Lt. Luis Torres said the "Good Samaritan" who took the boys under her wing and "prevented any harm from coming to them.”
