Traffic Advisory: I-880 Marina Boulevard On-Ramp Closure and Detour

The work will start at 10 p.m. on April 8 until April 11 at 5 a.m.

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform a traffic switch at Marina Blvd on to the new Marina Bridge in the city of San Leandro.

To ensure public safety during the work, the northbound I-880 Marina on-ramp will be closed from Tuesday April 8th 10 p.m. to Friday April 11th at 5 a.m.

Westbound Marina Blvd will be temporarily reduced to one lane during these hours as well. Once completed the new bridge will be a total of four lanes (two lanes in each direction). This configuration will remain until the second half of the new bridge is constructed.

The closures are necessary to allow contractors adequate time to realign Marina Boulevard onto the newly constructed bridge. Motorists should expect delays in the area and are advised to use alternate routes during the closure period.

Upon reopening at 5 a.m. on Friday morning April 11th, the northbound I-880 off-ramp will also be realigned. Signs and Portable Changeable Message Signs will be deployed to help motorists.

No lanes will be closed on I-880 during daytime hours.
