Three Men Arrested With Loaded Luger

Stop on MacArthur Boulevard leads to alleged discovery of a loaded pistol.

San Leandro police arrested three men for possession of a loaded firearm at the Quik Stop on MacArthur Boulevard in the wee hours of Monday morning.

According to a press release police received a call at 12:58 am of a person driving while intoxicated. Officers found the vehicle parked at the Quick Stop at 1001 MacArthur Boulevard.

Officers questioned the driver and two other passengers and determined that the driver had been drinking. They could also smell marijuana coming from inside of the passenger compartment.

The driver was on parole, a circumstance that allowed officers to search the car, where they allegedly found a loaded .9mm Luger handgun under the front passenger seat.

The officers arrested three men for possession of a loaded firearm: Alexis Mathis 30, of San Francisco; Royce Montgomery, Jr., 21, also of San Francisco); and Jeremy Mathis, 20, of San Lorenzo.
