Suspected Burglars Busted At RV Rental Site

Camping World on San Leandro Boulevard scene of alleged break-in and arrests.

 

Two Oakland men were arrested Monday night for allegedly breaking into the motor home rental site at 420 San Leandro Boulevard, police said.

According police, a Camping World employee called 911 at 10 pm Monday night to report that two people were breaking into some of the motor homes parked at the rental site.

San Leandro police officers surrounded the business and caught one suspect in the act of jumping a fence, according to the official account.

An Alameda County Sherriff's Department K-9 unit also responded to the call to search for the second suspect who was thought to have hidden.

After calling for the suspect to come out, the dog was sent in to find him. Police said the suspect still refused to come out and the dog bit him on the foot, causing what they described as a minor injury.

Police said 47-year-old Ledell Moss was the suspect who was bitten. Moss was booked into Santa Rita jail for burglary and possession of burglary tools and drug paraphernalia.

Hershel Dorsey, 48, was the suspect who jumped the fence, police said. He was booked for burglary.
