Suspect Arrested for Possessing Stolen Gun, Drugs

Don Ross, 36, of San Leandro was arrested on the 1500 block of Grand Avenue after police discovered marijuana, money and a stolen gun.

Police arrested a San Leandro man last night after they discovered drugs, money and a stolen, loaded handgun in the car he was driving.

At around 10:25 p.m., San Leandro police stopped a vehicle for committing a vehicle coe violation on the 1500 block of Grand Avenue.

After officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle, they discovered marijuana, money and a loaded handgun. The handgun had been reported stolen to a central valley agency prior to the stop.

The driver, Don Ross, 36, of San Leandro, was arrested for possession of marijuana for sales and possessing a stolen gun.

“Our officers continue to locate and recover illegal drugs and weapons. Each illegal weapon that is recovered may prevent someone from losing their life,” said Lt. Randall Brandt.
