SLPD Police Log: Two Marijuana Houses, Two Stolen Vehicles

Monday, Jan. 20

  • Patrol officers made traffic enforcement stop in the 1800 block of Merced Street around 2:40 a.m. The vehicle didn’t have any license plates, and the officer determined the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Oakland Police Department. Oscar Martinez (photo 2), a 20-year-old Union City resident, was arrested for possessing a stolen vehicle. 


Tuesday, Jan. 21

  • Officers were dispatched to a possible hazard in the 15000 block of Endicott Street at approximately 12:10 a.m. After arriving, officers discovered a power line had been creating sparks near a residence. Upon further investigation, they determined someone illegally tampered with the power supply to a nearby residence. The investigation lead to the discovery of two marijuana cultivation houses, and more than 1,500 illegally grown marijuana plants. The second residence was in the 14900 block of Crosby Street. Sonny Chen (photo 3), a 49-year-old male, was arrested for the incident.
  • A patrol officer ran a computer registration check on a vehicle in the area of Millstream Drive and Inlet Court. The computer check revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Alameda County Sherriff’s Department on Monday. Robert Green (photo 4), 24-year-old Oakland resident, was arrested for possessing a stolen vehicle.
