San Leandro Woman Dies, Two Passengers Injured in Car Crash on I-580

A car crash killed a San Leandro woman and injured two passengers — a 22-year-old woman and 4-year-old girl.

Two passengers were injured and one San Leandro woman died in a car crash on Interstate 580 on Wednesday night, according to a California Highway Patrol officer.

The 22-year-old driver, Myesha Holmes, crashed a gold Chevrolet Malibu into a street on the right shoulder in the eastbound direction at Keller Avenue, said CHP Officer Daniel Hill.

The three occupants were trapped and cut free with hydraulic machines, Hill said.

Holmes was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple blunt injuries. The two passengers, a 22-year-old woman and 4-year-old girl, were taken to the hospital for their injuries.

The names of the passengers have not been released.
