San Leandro Police Log: Stolen Vehicles, Recovered Firearm

A list of significant incidents leading to arrests by the San Leandro Police Department.

Friday, Dec. 13

  • One of SLPD’s patrol officers was patrolling in a vehicle equipped with a license plate reader around 5:40 p.m. The system alerted to a vehicle that was travelling on Lewelling Boulevard, near Washington Avenue. The vehicle had been reported stolen to the Stockton Police Department on Nov. 7. The vehicle was stopped; and the driver, 36-year-old Jason Fahey, who resides in San Lorenzo, was arrested for possessing the vehicle.
  • Officers responded to a disturbance in the 2300 block of E. 14th Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. They stopped a motorcycle nearby that was associated to their investigation. They discovered the motorcycle had been reported stolen to the Hayward Police Department on Nov. 22. Johnny Martin, 33 years old, who resides in San Leandro, was arrested for possessing the stolen motorcycle.

 

Saturday, Dec. 14

  • At 12:30 a.m., two patrol officers assigned to a specialized enforcement detail made a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle on Grand Avenue, near Dolores Avenue. During the investigation, an illegal loaded firearm was discovered concealed inside the vehicle. The investigation also revealed the firearm had been reported stolen to the Dixon Police Department on Nov. 5. Delvin Butler, 35 years old, who resides in Vallejo was arrested for the incident.

 

Monday, Dec. 16

  • A business located in the 15400 block of Hesperian Boulevard, reported one of their vehicles had been stolen at approximately 5 a.m. The reporting party informed us the vehicle was equipped with a global positioning system (GPS). Our units followed the GPS updates into Hayward and located the vehicle and arrested the driver. Jeffrey Tietjen, 36 years old, who resides in Hayward was booked for possessing the stolen vehicle.
