San Leandro and Milpitas police worked together to arrest a man in connection with the shooting Friday night of another man in the parking lot of on Hesperian Boulevard.
Eric Ericson, 47, was arrested on Saturday after a Milpitas SWAT team descended on his home in that city and took him into custody. Information obtained by San Leandro detectives led to the arrest, according to Lt. Jeff Tudor, spokesman for the .
Ericson was arrested in connection with the Friday night shooting of a 25-year-old San Leandro man. The man, who was shot in the neck and suffered a broken jaw, is expected to survive.
On Friday night around 9:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of a gunshot victim in the Walmart parking lot. When police arrived, they couldn't find the victim. However, they received a call shortly afterwards from saying a gunshot victim had been dropped off.
The victim, whose name is not being released at this time, was taken to Eden hospital's trauma center.
The police are still investigating the case. "It appears to be a drug deal gone bad," Tudor said.
Ericson is scheduled to appear at the Hayward Hall of Justice on Tuesday, March 15.
