San Leandro Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Oakland

Officials have not yet released the man's name.

A 28-year-old San Leandro man was killed in a motorcycle crash in East Oakland Thursday night, according to Oakland police.
 
The incident was reported at 7:39 p.m. after the motorcyclist was struck by an SUV on Russet Street and 107th Avenue, police said.
 
The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police said. The SUV driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators, police said.
 
Speed appears to have been a factor in the crash, police said, and investigators are looking into whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the incident. The Alameda County coroner's bureau has not yet released the motorcyclist's name.
