San Leandro Father Arraigned on Nine Counts of Sexual Assault

Francisco Dominguez is accused of assaulting his daughter over a period of several years.

A San Leandro man was arraigned on nine counts of sexual assault Friday afternoon in a Hayward courtroom.

over a period of several years. He is being held in Santa Rita jail on $1.4 million bail.

On Friday, Dominguez appeared before a judge on a television monitor and was read the nine counts of sexual assault that went back to 2005.

Alameda County Superior Court Judge Donald Squires said the incidents ranged from felony aggravated sexual assault and oral copulation to sexual penetration with a foreign object against the will of the victim. A translator restated the judges' reading in Spanish.

The victim — Dominguez' daughter — was referred to as Jane Doe during the court hearing because she was a minor who at the time of the initial incidents was under the age of 14.

If convicted, Dominguez will be required to register as a lifetime sex offender. He will also have to submit DNA and blood samples.

Dominquez will be given a public defender and will report back in court on July 9. The judge also ordered that Dominguez not have any contact whatsoever with his alleged victim and was required to stay away from her by at least 200 feet, should he be released from custody.
