The San Leandro BART station was closed for about two hours Saturday as police responded to a report of gunfire, a BART spokesman said.

The shots were reported at around 9:48 p.m. on the concourse level of the station, spokesman Jim Allison said. No one was injured.

The station was closed at about 10:10 p.m. and passengers were advised to head to nearby stations and board an AC Transit bus to reach the San Leandro Station. The station reopened around midnight.

BART police were collecting evidence and investigating, Allison said.

No suspect description was immediately available.

Not surprising, sadly. I just saw a guy leap the turnstile yesterday in the evening and the booth attendant either didn't (somehow) see him or couldn't be bothered to do anything about it. SL BART needs some TLC.
