Reward Offered in Case of Nursing Student Last Seen at Kaiser in Hayward

Michelle Le of San Mateo was last seen leaving class at a Hayward hospital Friday night.

Police are asking for the public's help locating a nursing student from San Mateo who went missing from a Hayward hospital on Friday.

Michelle Hoang Thi Le, 26, was last seen at 7 p.m. on Friday at Kaiser Hospital at 27303 Sleepy Hollow Ave. South, according to police.

According to news reports Tuesday, Le's family is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to her return.

Le was at the hospital taking a class, which is part of a nursing course she's enrolled in with Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, police said. Le was attending classes on the San Mateo campus of the school, according to a friend.

Le told many classmates she was planning to drive to Reno after class. She left class during a break and didn't return, according to police.

Police found her car parked a few blocks from the hospital and have not been able to reach Le by calling her cell phone. Towers traced her cell phone to areas in Fremont, Union City and Oakland, according to police.

Le is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes.
