Police Warn Residents of Increase in 'Street Robberies and Residential Burglaries'

The San Leandro Police Department is trying to make citizens aware of a recent increase in robberies and home burglaries.
Police officials have released a list of tips to help prevent residents from being victimized. The list includes being aware of surroundings, staying in well-lit areas and making a mental note of a robber's appearance, if confronted. At home, police urge residents to keep doors locked and always identify the person at the door before opening it.
