Police Say Argument Between Neighbors Prompted Alleged Attack with Metal Pipe

No suspect information was released and the case is still under investigation.

On April 11, 2014, at 1:46 a.m., San Leandro Police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Joaquin Ave on a report of an assault in progress.  

When they arrived, they found the victim who was suffering from a minor head injury. The victim said he got into an argument with a neighbor who may have been upset with the victim's girlfriend.  The victim said the suspect hit him over the head with a metal pipe.   

A 5-foot metal pipe was recovered at the scene. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.   

The suspect fled prior to officers arriving on scene.  Investigators have been notified and are attempting to identify the suspect.
