Police Blotter: Burglary, Battery and Suspicious People

A look at selected police activities from Monday, Nov. 21, through Sunday, Nov. 27

(A selection of routine incidents culled from the San Leandro Police Department's Daily Activity Log from Monday, Nov.21st through Sunday, Nov. 27th.)

Shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday,  Nov. 27, officers responded to a report of a disturbance on the 200 block of Castro Street. Officers made contact with the suspect, made an arrest and transported the individual to jail.

At 1:11 pm. on Sunday, Nov. 27, officers were called to investigate a burglary on the 800 block of Bancroft Avenue. A K-9 unit was deployed. No suspect was apprehended.

About 15 minutes before 1 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, officers received more than one report of a battery on the 100 block of Pelton Center Way. Officers contacted and apprehended the suspect, who was transported to jail.

At 2:36 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, emergency dispatchers received a report from the 600 block of St. Mary Avenue of shots being fired. Officers investigated but were unable to locate a suspect.

At 1:07 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, dispatchers took a report of a disturbance on the 500 block of Lewelling Boulevard. Officers who arrived at the scene located and apprehended a suspect who was taken into custody.

At 6:28 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, a report came in of a drug violation at the intersection of Inverness Street an Advent Avenue. Officers arrived to investigate and searched the area, but the suspects were gone.

At 9:18 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 25, police arrested an auto burglary suspect on the 15500 block of East 14th Street.

At 3:17 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, a caller reported a suspicious person on the 500 block of Floresta Boulevard, but responding officers were unable to locate a suspect.

Just after 11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, an emergency call reported a prowler on the 700 block of Elsie Avenue, but by the time officers arrived the person had gone.

Shortly after midnight on the morning of Thursday, Nov. 24, police arrested a suspicious person on the 800 block of East 14th Street.

At 7:18 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, officers were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle on the 14700 block of Oleander Street, but by the time they arrived it was gone. A search of the area proved negative.

At 8:51 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, emergency dispatchers were notified of a disturbance on the 400 block of Bancroft Avenue. Officers who arrived at the scene contacted and apprehended a suspect who was transported to jail.

At 2:16 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, officers responded to a report of a burglary at the intersection of 139th Avenue and Rose Drive. They took a statement and filed a report but were unable to locate any suspects.

Just before 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, police were called to investigate a battery on the 700 block of Biltmore Street, but the suspect had gone by the time they arrived.

At 2:51 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, officers were called in response to a burglary on the 1000 block of Williams Street.  They took a report and referred the matter to criminal investigations for follow up.

At 6:39 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, police responded to a report of a robbery on the 1000 block of MacArthur Boulevard. They took a statement and gathered evidence but were unable to locate a suspect. The matter was referred to criminal investigations for follow up.
