Neighborhood Watch Being Organized In Estudillo Area

(Taken from the Estudillo Home Owners Association e-mail list)

EHOA would like to help blocks throughout the area get organized and activate Neighborhood Watch. By knowing our neighbors and being prepared we will all feel safer. Neighborhood Watch is one of the oldest and most effective crime prevention programs in the country, bringing citizens together with law enforcement to deter crime and make communities safer. It starts with a "Block Captain" who organizes initial meetings and gathers contact information.

We are lucky to have Patricia Minnis with Citizens for a Safer San Leandro who lives in Estudillo Estates and is available to help get us started. She has made contact with SLPD officer Tim DeGrano and has arranged for our "Block Captain Kick Off" meeting

Please join us, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at Zocalo Coffeehouse

The more people get involved, the stronger we are as a neighborhood whether the issue is crime prevention or disaster preparedness. In any event, we need to know our neighbors and have them know us!

Please contact Megan Green at megan@estudilloestates.org to let her know you are able to make be at this session. We want to have enough cookies for all!

(For information on how to organize a Neighborhood Watch Group and hold a meeting, please contact the Police Department's Administrative Services Division at 510-577-3247.)
