Police Blotter: Crime Went On Spring Break?

Fewer crime were reported from April 8th to April 14th compared to the previous week.

 

Last week fewer incidents were reported and fewer arrests were made relative as crime took a spring break in San Leandro.

In the week after Easter four robberies and two assaults were reported. There were 29 burglaries and 21 batteries recorded on the San Leandro Police Daily Activity Log. Police made 41 arrests.

Sunday, April 8th

Police made eleven arrests.   The police department received reports of eight batteries, two residential and one auto burglary.  

Police arrested a suspicious person who was allegedly brandishing a weapon at 11:42 a.m. on the 1400 block of Washington Avenue.  A report was filed and witness statements were recorded.  

At 12:13 p.m. police responded to a call to a battery case on the 14700 block of Washington Avenue.  The suspect was arrested, statements were taken and evidence was collected.

On the 1000 block of Broadmoor Boulevard at 5:41 p.m. police were called to a reported burglary of an occupied residence.  Police were unable to locate any suspects.  They took statements, filed a report and collected evidence.  

Three more were arrested during traffic stops.

Monday, April 9th

Not much crime reported.  There were two auto and one residential burglary; one assault and one battery reported to the police department.  Seven arrests were made.  

At 7:55 p.m. police arrested a suspect on the 1600 block of Orchard Avenue for reportedly committing an assault with a deadly weapon.  Police collected evidence and recorded witness statements.

Police arrested a suspicious person who was allegedly prowling the 14600 block of Elm Street at 1:42 a.m. Police filed a report, recorded statements and collected evidence.

Police were called to the scene of a reported battery 1300 block of Fairmont Avenue at 2:10 p.m. A suspect was arrested.

Tuesday, April 10th

Yet another light day for police.  Five were arrested.  One auto burglary, one residential burglary and one battery were reported.  

At 11:36 p.m. a burglary was reported on the 1300 block of 147th Avenue. An arrest was made.  

A call was made to an alleged battery at 12:04 p.m.  It happened on the 1500 block of Aurora Avenue.  No report was filed and no arrest made.  

Wednesday, April 11th

Four arrests, two batteries, one auto and one residential burglary were reported on this rainy Wednesday.  

A battery suspect was arrested at the corner of Bancroft and Sybil Avenue when police arrived at the scene at 7:47 p.m.  Statements were recorded and a report was filed.  

At 3:00 p.m. a burglary was reported on the 100 block of Sunnyside Drive.  No suspect was arrested.  A report was filed and evidence collected.  

At 3:06 police filed a report about an individual who committed indecent exposure.  The incident happened on the 1400 block of Washington Avenue.  

Thursday, April 12th

Four arrests were made.  One robbery, three batteries, four auto burglaries and one residential burglary were reported.  

Police arrested a battery suspect on the 900 block of 143rd Avenue at 1:16 p.m.  

A residential burglary was reported on the 400 block of Sybil Avenue at 7:41 p.m.  The K9 unit was dispatched and a report was filed.  

At 10:15 a.m. police were dispatched to the 14500 block of Cypress Street in response to a call about an alleged battery.  The suspect was gone when police arrived.  Police filed a report and collected evidence.

Friday, April 13th

On this Friday the 13th, three arrests were made.  Police received reports of two batteries, two robberies, four residential, two commercial and two auto burglaries.

At 4:43 p.m. a  robbery was reported on the 1200 block of Bancroft Avenue.  A report was filed but no arrest was made.

Police received a report of shots being fired at 1:11 a.m. on the corner of Washington Avenue and Thornton Street.  Police were unable to locate any suspects upon arrival.

Saturday, April 14th

Seven arrests were made.  Four batteries and one robbery was reported.  There were two auto, one commercial and three residential burglaries today.

A suspect was arrested at 1:57 a.m. on the 15100 block of Washington Avenue due to drugs or alcohol related activities.

At 5:17 p.m. police were called to a reported robbery on the 1400 block of Daily Drive.  Evidence was collected and a report was filed.

A robbery was reported on the 1300 block of MacArthur Boulevard at 6:05 p.m.  Evidence was collected, statements were recorded and a report was filed.
