A Busy Week For Burglars In San Leandro

Thirty-nine home and auto burglaries were reported last week.

 

Here is a summary of activity reported on the San Leandro Police Department's Daily Activity Log from Sunday, June 10, through Saturday, June 16th:

  • Police made 53 arrests
  • Citizens reported 3 assaults
  • 25 batteries
  • 39 home and auto burglaries
  • 10 robberies

 Sunday, June 10

Seven cars fell victim to car burglars today, according to the SLPD.  One home burglary was also reported along with one robbery.  SLPD arrested five.

At 1:51 a.m. someone on the 600 block of Victoria Court reported hearing shots fired.

Police responded to a robbery call on the 600 block of E. 14th Street at 10:14 p.m.  A report was filed.

An occupied home was apparently burglarized on the 14700 block of Sylvia Way at 8:32 a.m.  The suspect was not found.

Monday, June 11  

The SLPD’s Daily Activity Log indicates that the police did not make any arrests for the day, nor were there any assaults or burglaries-- a rare day for law enforcement.  Only two batteries and one robbery were reported for the entire day.  Crime for the day was either low or underreported.

A battery reportedly happened at 12:40 a.m. on the 2400 block of West 133rd Avenue

A robbery allegedly took place on the 700 block of Castro Street at 12:44 a.m.  Police conducted interviews, investigated the incident and submitted a report.

Tuesday, June 12

Eight arrests were made for various crimes.  Two batteries, one auto burglary, and two robberies were also reported.

At 2:55 p.m. a battery was reported on the 900 block of E. 14th StreetA report was completed.

A victim was allegedly robbed at 4:27 p.m. on the 1300 block of MacArthur Boulevard.  SLPD investigated the incident and filed a report.

Another robbery was reported at 5:05 p.m. on the 1100 block of San Leandro Boulevard.  An investigation led to an arrest of a suspect.

Wednesday, June 13th

No robberies or assaults were reported.  SLPD made six arrests.  Other crimes include: three batteries and six burglaries (four vehicle and two residential burglaries).

Police filed a report about a battery that occurred at 10:42 p.m. on the 200 block of Marina Boulevard.

Burglars victimized a home on the 1300 block of View Drive at 2:22 p.m.  Police did not find the suspect when they arrived.

Another battery was reported at 10:555 p.m. on the 1500 block of 141st Avenue

Thursday, June 14th

Today was the busiest day for the police department.  They arrested 15 for various crimes.  Four batteries and 10 burglaries (eight residential and two auto) were reported.  SLPD did not receive reports of any assaults or robberies.

SLPD caught the suspect of a residential burglary that took place at 12:08 a.m. on the 0 block of Dutton Avenue.  A report was filed.

At 10:48 p.m. a battery allegedly happened on the 800 block of Donovan Drive.  The suspect was gone when police arrived.

Police arrested a battery suspect at 3:02 p.m. on the 600 block of Lewelling Boulevard

Friday, June 15th

Police arrested nine.  Other crimes reported include: one assault, seven batteries, three residential and six auto burglaries, and three robberies.

A robbery on the 15100 block of Hesperian Boulevard was reported at 9:27 p.m.  Police conducted field interviews and filed a report.

A battery suspect fled before police arrived on the scene on the corner of Washington Avenue and Floresta Boulevard at 9:21 p.m.

Someone suspected of vehicle theft was arrested at 1:42 p.m. on the 14600 block of Birch StreetPolice filed a report, took statements and towed the vehicle.

Saturday, June 16th

The week closed with ten arrests, two assault, five batteries, one residential and four auto burglaries, as well as three robberies.

SLPD apprehended a burglary suspect after responding to a 911 call to the 100 block of Warwick Avenue.  An investigation was done and a report was filed.

At 9:45 p.m. residents reported an assault with a deadly weapon that happened on the 00 block of Castro  Street.  A report was filed after police investigated the incident.

A robbery on the 15600 block of Calgary Street prompted police response at 12:54 p.m.  A report was filed.
