Photos Of Crash & Arrest That Shut Down Lewelling

Two suspects tried to evade police and caused a traffic collision Saturday night. They are under arrest for possession of a loaded firearm.

San Leandro police closed a section of Lewelling Boulevard for about 20 minutes Saturday night while they investigated a car crash that occurred after a man and woman tried to avoid a traffic stop, fled by car, crashed and then tried to run off on foot, allegedly tossing away a loaded gun in the process.

The incident began about 10:25 pm. Police closed Lewelling from I-880 to Washington Avenue while they investigated the incident and arrested the pair.

Police reported that no one was serioulsy injured. Lewelling was reopened at approximately 11 pm after a 20 minute closure.

Tom, it is time for Patch to get serious about its coverage. It is OK to run names and photos of two senior men arrested on a charge of engaging in lewd behavior at a restroom in the San Leandro Marina. Here we have two adults arrested for far more serious crimes and no photos or names. Why do you and Patch want to protect the criminals and want to out a couple of old men. Sad commentary on the relative values of the press and our community.

Leah, do you have the authorization from Disney for the use of the copyrighted Dumbo character youRead More use for your blog? I thought that the policy of Patch was to deny access to non-authorized materials such as this.
