San Leandro police have arrested a teenaged boy from Oakland and a teenaged girl from San Leandro for allegedly beating up two local girls and stealing one of their bicycles about three weeks ago.
The victims were sisters riding home from school.
Police say the crime occurred on Monday, October 14, when the victims were confronted by two teens, one a girl and the other a boy, who demanded to use their bicycles.
When the victims refused police say the female suspect beat and kicked the victims. The male stole a bike and the pair escaped the area.
The incident occurred on Bancroft Avenue, just south of Estudillo.
Police say they located and arrested both suspects yesterday. They are now in Juvenile Hall. The bicycle has not been found.
