Pair of Teens Arrested For Beating Up Two Girls And Stealing A Bicycle

An Oakland boy and San Leandro girl are suspected of punching two sisters who were riding home from school and stealing one of their bicycles.

San Leandro police have arrested a teenaged boy from Oakland and a teenaged girl from San Leandro for allegedly beating up two local girls and stealing one of their bicycles about three weeks ago.

The victims were sisters riding home from school.

Police say the crime occurred on Monday, October 14, when the victims were confronted by two teens, one a girl and the other a boy, who demanded to use their bicycles.

When the victims refused police say the female suspect beat and kicked the victims. The male stole a bike and the pair escaped the area.

The incident occurred on Bancroft Avenue, just south of Estudillo.

Police say they located and arrested both suspects yesterday. They are now in Juvenile Hall. The bicycle has not been found.

A good reason to bring caning over here as punishment. They stole a tricycle and they beat and kicked them?! How old were the victims?! They were obviously beating children and not even teenagers. Hell is calling. There are two open spots.

so , keep the two in jail and make parents buy new bikes for the ones they stold . if the teens want to steal make them learn that they got to pay for what they stold .so what if the sisters had used or old bikes , make the ones replace them with new ones and new helmets and bike locks . keep the two in kiddie jail for a weeks

This type of crime has been occuring up along that Oakland border since the late 1960's. The punks come over from Oakland then go straight up Bancroft, MacArthur or E. 14th for their escape. The crime of the ghetto has no boundaries.

Petty vandalism has been up, too. A car and a house were spray painted in the area right across from city hall. Pretty remarkable, given the proximity of the police department. I guess you have to live in city hall to feel safe, these days.
