Oakland Shooting Ends in Collision in San Leandro

A shooting that started in Oakland on Sunday night ended in a vehicle crashing into another car parked at First United Credit Union in San Leandro.

A shooting and vehicle pursuit that started in Oakland Sunday evening ended in a crash in San Leandro, according to police.       

San Leandro police said they responded to a vehicle crash and reports of shots fired at Bancroft Avenue and Dutton Avenue around 7:20 p.m.     

Officers found a vehicle had crashed into a parked car in the First United Credit Union parking lot.

The driver and passengers, who received minor injuries, told police they were shot at and chased from 88th Avenue in Oakland to San Leandro where they crashed, police said.     

Oakland police will be handling the investigation, San Leandro police said.
