Manor Burglary Suspect Caught Thanks To Alert Neighbor

San Leandro police arrest one man due to a timely tip. But another suspect evaded immediate arrest.

Just before noon on Friday a Washington Manor resident phoned the San Leandro Police Department to report seeing two strange men entering the backyard of a residence on the 14900 block of Endicott Street.

Officers arrived in time to see one suspect, later identified as Xavier Robinson, 21, of Antioch, running from the residence.

Police say Robinson ran through yards and on the roof of a nearby residence before being taken into custody on Fargo Avenue.

A second suspect evaded arrest at the time. Police described this suspect as a white male, 18-20 years of age, between 5-foot-8 and 6-feet tall, of medium build and wearing a t-shirt and jeans.

Police believe the suspects forced entry into the victim's residence by kicking in the rear door, and they credit the neighbor's timely tip with enabling them to make at least one immediate arrest.
