Gunman In Backyard Foiled By Scream

Woman accosted in her own backyard screamed, ran into her house and called San Leandro police, who apprehended four suspects.

On Thursday night about 10:00 p.m., San Leandro Police received a call from a woman living on Virginia Street who said two men were in her backyard and that one had pointed a gun at her.

According to a police report, the woman said the man with the pistol ordered her to put her hands into the air. Instead, she screamed for her husband and ran into her house to call police.

Police say they arrived quickly and spotted four men in the vicinity. Two were detained without incident. They were Tony Johnson, 22 years old, and Louis Lee, 28 years old. Police said Lee was a parolee at large.
