Four Teens Arrested in Series Of Armed Carjackings

One suspect was arrested Saturday, three more Monday as suspects in four incidents that occurred week of Nov. 12.

San Leandro police announced Monday they had arrested one juvenile suspect in connection with a series of four armed carjackings that occurred between Nov. 12 and Nov. 17.

Tuesday they said three more teenagers were taken into custody in connection with the same crimes. 

Their names are being withheld because of their ages.

The first suspect, who was arrested Saturday, is a 14-year-old boy from Oakland.

The three others, who were arrested on Monday, are a 13-year-old boy from Oakland, a 14-year-old boy from Oakland and a 13-year-old girl from San Leandro.

Police took a black BB gun from the girl at the time of her arrest.

According to police, two armed carjackings occurred in San Leandro on Saturday, Nov. 12.

On Wednesday the 16th and Thursday the 17th, two more armed carjackings occurred at the Bay Fair BART station. 

Police believe all four carjackings were committed by the same suspects.

BART police took part in the investigation and arrests.
