The fire was just east of San Leandro.

By City News—

Firefighters put out a two-alarm blaze at a residence in unincorporated Alameda County this afternoon, a fire spokeswoman said.

The fire was reported at 11:52 a.m. at 14853 Midland Road near Ashland, just east of San Leandro and west of Lake Chabot Regional Park, Alameda County fire spokeswoman Aisha Knowles said.

The vacant split-level three-story home was under construction when the fire broke out, Knowles said. The fire caused extensive damage to the home, and some exposure damage to a neighboring home, she said.

Firefighters had the fire under control within about 30 minutes, Knowles said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
