Firefighters Extinguish Morning House Fire

No one was injured during the fire and the cause of the blaze is being investigated.

By Bay City News—

Firefighters in San Leandro have knocked down a blaze at a home this morning, an Alameda County fire spokeswoman said.

Crews responded to a report of a fire in the 1900 block of Alvarado Street at about 3:50 a.m., fire spokeswoman Aisha Knowles said.

The blaze burned heavy in the first and second floors of the home, resulting in a second alarm response, Knowles said. Knowles said the fire was out around 4:35 a.m. The cause of the blaze is under investigation, but the bulk of it was in the rear of the home.

No injuries were reported. Further details were not immediately available.
