Faris Street House Used as Marijuana Growing Operation

More than 800 marijuana plants seized on Tuesday. Oakland man arrested.

Bay City News — Police this week found a home in San Leandro that was only being used to grow marijuana.

More than 800 marijuana plants were recovered Tuesday at a house in the 1500 block of Faris Street, said San Leandro police Lt. Jeff Tudor, along with 4 pounds of the drug ready for sale.

An Oakland woman, Run Qing Chung, 42, was arrested. More than $2,000 in cash and a Mercedes C320 were seized, Tudor said.

The operation had the capability to grow $30,000 worth of marijuana.
