Dementia Patient Missing From Care Home in Hayward

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 71-year-old man who went missing from Colonial Acres Care Home in Hayward. 

Donald Kim was last seen Monday night during a bed count, according to sheriff’s officials. When employees arrived to serve him breakfast Tuesday morning, Kim was missing from his room.

Kim has gone missing before, and was found in a residential area close to his care home, said Lt. Emmanuel Christy.

The elderly man is not from Hayward and is unfamiliar with his surroundings. He has dementia and behavioral disturbances.

Kim was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and sweatpants.
