Two incidents have interrupted the day at Bancroft Middle School but neither is connected to the student body, a school board member told Patch.
In the first incident a community member was taken to the school by ambulance and then picked up by a helicopter which used its athletic field as a landing place, school board member Mike Katz-Lacabe said in an email.
In addition, he said, the school was put under lockdown for a nearby incident unrelated to the medical emergency.
Patch will have more information as it becomes available.
