Alameda County firefighters quickly put out a grass fire in unincorporated San Leandro this morning, an Alameda County fire spokeswoman said.
Firefighters responded to a report of a vegetation fire in the area of 2500 Fairmont Drive at about 11:45 a.m., spokeswoman Aisha Knowles said.
The fire, which consumed an area of 100 feet by 100 feet on a hillside across the street from the Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center, was extinguished in less than 10 minutes, Knowles said.
Knowles said the fire was caused by sparks from an electrical line, but it's unknown what the cause of the sparks were, she said.
At no point during the blaze was any livestock or structure in danger, Knowles said. No one was injured in the fire.
