BART Service Resumes After Fire Near Tracks Delays Friday Night Trains

BART service briefly stopped between the Oakland Coliseum and Bayfair BART stations due to a structure fire near the tracks in San Leandro on Friday night, BART officials said.
 
Service was stopped due to the fire near the tracks in the vicinity of the San Leandro BART station around 10:50 p.m., a BART employee said. Service was restored at about 11:15 p.m. and there were residual delays of 15 minutes as of 11:30 p.m., the employee said.
 
A report of a structure fire in the 500 block of San Leandro Boulevard was reported around 10:30 p.m., according to an Alameda County Fire Department dispatcher. The address is located about half a mile away north from the San Leandro BART station.
 
The blaze was under control shortly before 11 p.m., the dispatcher said.
