Two suspects were arrested and a third remains at large in connection with an attempted robbery in San Leandro on Saturday night, police said.
A man in his 50s was walking in the 1000 block of Davis Street and was approached by three suspects around 10:20 p.m. Saturday, according to police. One of the suspects claimed to have a gun and the trio demanded the man's valuables, police said.
The suspects then fled when they noticed a police vehicle driving in the area. The man flagged down the officer in the vehicle to report the incident, police said. The officer gave the man a ride home and on the way, they spotted two of the suspects, according to police.
The suspects were identified as 22-year-old Carl McCoy and a juvenile whose name was not released due to his age, police said. Both were arrested and booked on suspicion of attempted robbery.
