Deaths in San Leandro: Veterans, Publisher, Real Estate Agent

Jose Gonzales: Gonzales, of San Leandro, died July 11. He was 58. Gonzales was married to his wife for 34 years. 

William (Bill) Hicks: Hicks, of San Leandro, died July 16 of complications from Alzheimer's. He was 71. Hicks spent his career in publishing and worked with Wadsworth, Brooks-Cole, Jossey-Bass and Stanford University Press.

John Litvinchuk: Litvinchuk, of San Leandro, died July 17. He owned Litvinchuk Real Estate in Washington Manor from the 1970s to 2009, when he passed the business on to his son. He served in the Army during World War II.

Fred Petersen: Petersen, of San Leandro, died July 21. He was 88. He served in World War II with the Canadian Air Force and loved sailing, sea fishing and canoeing.
