Castro Valley resident and New Haven Unified School District teacher died from a brain aneurysm last Thursday.
36-year-old Sara Husokowski leaves behind her 7-week-old son and husband who is an Alameda County Firefighter.
According to a friend, Lillian Martinez, Husokowski went to sleep and woke up with a pain like a nail going through her head.
She was able to call her husband who was on-duty at the time.
“Edwin received a phone call at 1:30 in the morning from Sara saying she has a really bad headache and he needed to come home,” said Alameda County Fire Captain and fire union representative John Whiting.
A neighbor found Husokowski unconscious and called 911. Alameda County Fire’s crew responded to the report and brought her to Eden Medical Center. Friends say she was on life-support and died a few hours later.
Husokowski donated her organs, including an organ that would be going to an 11-year-old child.
Her friends have created the Sara Husokowski Fund to raise money to help benefit her husband and 7-weeks-old son William.
