The fair turns 100 this year and what better way to celebrate than to enjoy today's parade.
The Alameda County Fair will parade down Main Street in Pleasanton this Saturday to celebrate 100 years in town.
The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. and will run through downtown Pleasanton.
In addition to the Grand Marshall, Morrie Turner, 70 community groups have entered to walk in the parade including:
the Alameda County Blue Star Moms;
District Attorney Nancy O'Malley;
Alameda County Sheriff's Mounted Posse;
Dance 10 Studio, and;
California's Great America Characters.
Expect the quintessential parade experience with mainstays such as marching bands, floats, equestrians and Shriners clowns.
Be prepared for sun and heat and a lot of time on your feet.
