San Leandro Swimming In Crab Feeds

Crab lovers have ample opportunity to indulge their cravings for the delicious crustaceans this season

 

Put on your bibs, pull out your forks and get ready to chow down.

As in past years, San Leandro is up to its neck in crab feeds this time of year and the crab lovers among us have switched into high gear making reservations all over town.

January 21 - Alta Mira Club - San Leandro's Alta Mira Club is holding its 30th annual crab feed featuring a dinner at its beautiful historic clubhouse. A social hour begins at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m.  The dinner menu will include both crab and chicken, pasta, salad and bread. There will also be a raffle. Tickets are $40 per person and reservations can be made by calling 510-483-3166.

January 24 - The Dad's Club at Assumption Parish/Assumption School -  Their annual Men's Crab Feed takes place in the school gym and includes all-you-can-eat salad, crab, pasta and garlic bread for $40 per person. The doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner starting at 7 p.m. If you are interested in sending your husband, boyfriend, brother, uncle, grandfather or neighbor, please contact Art Galicia for tickets 510- 914-4205.  Reservations must be made by Friday evening, January 20 so an adequate crab count can be done. Walk ups will not be guaranteed admittance.  This is a major fundraiser for the Assumption Dad's Club, which provides assistance to the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) programs at Assumption.  A child living within the Assumption Parish district is eligible to participate in CYO activities.

February 4 - San Leandro Rotary Club - This crab feed is catered by Miraglia Catering and includes salad, pasta, garlic bread and all-you-can-eat Dungeness crab. There will also be a raffle at this annual event which will be held at the from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person. To purchase tickets call 510-347-4620 ext 101 or visit its website here.

February 11 - St. Leander's Catholic Church  -This is their fifth annual Valentine's Crab Feed. The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with a no-host bar. The crab feed follows at 6:30 p.m. and will include crab, salad, bread and pasta.To purchase tickets at $35 each, visit the parish office located at 474 West Estudillo Avenue, San Leandro.
