Forum Saturday On Building Strong Families

Youth wellness, teens and technology, parenting education and more.

 

Former California Superintendent of Public Instruction Delaine Eastin will be the keynote speaker at a "Forum on Children and Teens" that will be held at the from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 21st.

The theme will be “Putting the Pieces Together to Build Strong Families.”

Topics will include youth wellness; teens and technology; parenting education; job training and mentoring resources and more.

Other speakers will be Mayor Stephen Cassidy of San Leandro; Alameda County Supervisor Wilma Chan; San Lorenzo Schools Director of Student Services Dr. Ammar Saheli; Ms. Dale Gregory, MPH; and members of the San Leandro Police Department.

The event is being co-hosted by the City, the San Leandro Unified School District, the San Lorenzo Unified School District and the San Leandro Education Foundation (SLED).

“The Schools, SLED and the City have been working to create a format where families, children and teens, educators and public officials can come together and discuss the issues facing the families and young people of our community,”  Cassidy said.

The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
