The group's goal is to organize events around parents' busy work schedules. Most outings are evening and weekend events: play dates for parents and kids, field trips, parents' night out, co-ops for "grown-up time", monthly parent discussions, and more.

The East Bay Single Parents Weekend Adventures group holds activies all over the East Bay, for children of all age groups.

There are several requirements for joining this group. You must be a single parent. If you are attempting to join this group and you are currently married, organizers say, this is not the group for you. The group's organizers say they embrace the idea of marriage and are overjoyed when one of its members has gone from a single to married status during their time in the group. However, if you are married at the time you are considering membership in this group, organizers ask that you refrain from joining the community.

For security purposes, all profiles on the group's site, must be be accompanied by a photo and a brief profile questionnaire within 72 hours of joining. All members who fail to abide by this rule, will have their profiles deleted immediately. Organizers say they are very strict about enforcing these rules because their main goal is to create a forum where our members feel both comfortable and safe.
