Deafhood Forum Friday At 6 PM

Deaf Asians' perspectives explored during free event open to the public in San Leandro

 

Deaf Asians' Perspectives and Their Life Experiences will be the focus of a "Deafhood Forum" March 30 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the , 1550 San Leandro Blvd., San Leandro.

The event is being sponsored by the Deaf Counseling Advocacy and Referral Agency. Presentations will be in American Sign Language (ASL).

Maria Tanya DeGuzman-Viera, president of the Bay Area Asian Deaf Association and Nina Phua will present interviews with Asian deaf people of varying ages during the forum. An audience discussion will be held after the formal presentation.
