SaveOaklandSports Holds End-of-Year Fundraiser, Tribute to Chad Newhouse

SaveOaklandSports will be holding their year-end fundraiser on Friday at Ricky’s Sports Theatre in San Leandro from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The fundraiser will also be a tribute to Chad Newhouse who lost his life last December. Newhouse is a former SOS member and the son of Dave Newhouse, a longtime Oakland Tribune Columnist and author. 

The event is free and raffle prizes will be available.

Mayor Jean Quan, Alameda County Supervisor Nate Miley and Oakland City Council member at-large Rebecca Kaplan will be providing a status report on the Coliseum City and Howard Terminal — potential site for the Oakland Raiders and Oakland Athletics. Alameda County Supervisor Wilma Chan, San Leandro City Council member Diana Souza, Berkeley City Council member Kriss Worthington and Richmond City Council member Corky Booze are also scheduled to attend.

Ricky’s Sports Theatre is located at 15028 Hesperian Boulevard in San Leandro.
