"Fun with Food" Science Program at the Main Library

Fun, food and science get all mixed up at this free program with the American Chemical Society at the San Leandro Main Library! Science experts from ACS will demonstrate some amazing experiments with food, including a Milk of Magnesia antacid color trick and liquid nitrogen ice cream. In addition, kids will get to try fun science activities, like extracting DNA from strawberries, making edible slime from sodium alginate, and building molecular models of plant scent compounds. This event is open to all ages, but the activities are best suited for kids ages 5-11. No registration required. For more information, call the Library at 577-3960.
